Don’t just chill at the pool, or work yourself into a stinky sweat at the burger shop.
Buy a gallon or two of chocolate chip ice cream, call your friends over and have an ice-cream eating contest. (Don’t act like you don’t have a Baskin-Robbins coupon burning a hole in your pocket!)
Be sure to cop a prize for the first place winner.
Here’s my list of 11 Things to do This Summer.
- Plan an ol’ school game night with board games. Give Sunset Overdrive a break.
- Eat a dish from a different culture. Rajma, anyone?
- Remix your room. Uh, clean it first.
- Make a series of five ten-minute short films. (Check out the 2014 Teen Filmmaker Festival, so you can get ready for the 2015 contest.)
- Create an end of summer film festival. See No.4 for ideas.
- Solve a problem or find a cure. End hunger in your ‘hood, the world, or just in your building.
- Perform a random act of kindness. Mow the grass or go grocery shopping for an elderly neighbor.
- Challenge your friends to an ice cream eating contest, or Gummy worms. You choose.
- Leave your comfort zone and do something new. Hiking anyone?
- Take your lil’ brother, sister or cousin out for some QT (quality time). Swimming. Biking. Picking boogers.
- Learn how to cook three (edible!) meals. Grilled cheese does NOT count.
What are your top three things to do when it’s super hot outside?
